Syracuse's Film Festival has moved from spring to fall, in part to show visitors the great weather here at this time of year.
Owen Shapiro, who's coordinating the four day event, says it puts the community's best before the international visitors, who'll be screening movies, both old and new, and will be part of workshops and gala events.
Syracuse's Palace Theatre is the main Syracuse venue, but there are events all over the area, including in Geneva, Hamilton, Rome, and Oswego.  Celebrities visiting include Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos) on Wednesday, a showing of Alfred Hitchcock's silent film 'The Lodger' with live jazz by Javon Jackson  on Friday, Red Carpet awards on Saturday (actor Edward James Olmos is a presenter) , and actor Ed Harris wrapping up the festival on Sunday evening.  The complete schedule is at  www.syrfilmfest.com
