The inspiring pictures and stories from Chile captured the attention of the whole world but few people were watching closer than Antonio Hererra and his family in Fayetteville. Herrera was born in Chile and most of his family still lives there. This week the Herrera family decided they wanted to show their friends and neighbors how much pride and joy they felt. First they put up a Chilean flag - but one flag didn't feel like enough.

Soon they had 33 small flags spelling Chile on their front yard.

"This is our way to pay tribute to them and everyone who has been celebrating,” said Antonio Herrera.

The flags were a family project. The Herrera’s two young daughters helped build the flag tribute but also connected with their father’s Chilean heritage.

"I think it's an opportunity to remember and remind them where part of the family is,’ said Herrera.

Herrera said he is glad the rest of the world has been able to see the perseverance and faith of the Chilean miners and their rescuers.

"This is an opportunity for the world to see Chile as not only famous because of the wine but it's also famous because of the strength of its people."

Neighbors in the Fayetteville area have noticed the Chilean flag tribute and Herrera says several have wanted to know more about life and culture in Chile.
