OSWEGO -- A local man is under arrest, after police say he was involved in a string of burglaries this past summer.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 25-year-old Shane A. Kent of Varick Street in Oswego, and have accused him of participating in three burglaries in three different Oswego County towns in July 2010. Police say Kent unlawfully entered the KTM Mini-Mart in Oswego on July 21, the Sun-Up Food Store in New Haven on July 26, and the Pit Stop convenience store in Scriba on July 28 and stole cigarettes, cash, and even a safe worth thousands of dollars in total. He is also accused of damaging a window, door, alarm, and cash register when allegedly entering the stores.

Ken has been charged with multiple counts of grand larceny, burglary, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and petit larceny. He was arraigned in the Town of Scriba on all charges and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond. He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Scriba Court on December 9.

Police say their investigating is continuing, and Kent did not act alone when allegedly committing these offenses.
