ALTMAR -- Snow is nothing new for Kevin Foster, but he's been waiting for a storm like this to hit Altmar since October.
"We usually have the light fluffy snow. It's a little wet right now."
Now that the snow is falling, he's expecting to spend a lot more time with his shovel.
"We keep busy," said Foster. "We'll be good friends during the winter."
Shovels weren't the only thing being unpacked today.
"I thought when it was coming down, the kids were going to want to go sleigh riding as soon as they got off the bus and here we are," said Patrick Giggey.
The Giggey's say that when you consider all the fun it brings, snow gets a bad rap.
"This is a lot of fun. People complain about the snow because they don't like driving in it."
Plows and tow trucks were busy all across the tug hill tonight, helping those drivers out. Timothy Krowicky is visiting Richland from New Jersey and said he was not fully prepared for the weather.
"It's a little early," said Krowicky. "I did some snow removal for a little while. It's a little early but everyone can use it."
Krowicky planned to make the most of the snow, even if he hadn't expected it.
"I'll be up here for the weekend--get up to the mountains and snowboard a little bit."
