PHELPS, NY (AP) -- Authorities say they've identified the woman whose body was found near a car parked along a rural Ontario County road. Ontario County sheriff's deputies say the death of 35-year-old Valerie Tichenor of Newark in Wayne County is considered suspicious.

Authorities say the medical examiner's office in neighboring Monroe County is working to determine the cause of death. Deputies say Tichenor's body had visible injuries, but there were no signs of damage to the car.

Deputies say a passing motorist spotted her body around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday lying on the ground at the edge of a farm field in the town of Phelps.
