Onondaga County Parks has lots of fun and exercise activities, with help if you need to learn how to get started.

Robin Augello, with parks, says sleigh rides are underway at Highland Forest, Saturdays and Sundays (except Christmas Day), with the horses 'on duty' every day the week between Christmas and New Year's.

There's sledding at Long Branch, on a 100' hill, and at Highland on a 500' slope--just remember, says Augello, that you have to walk back up!

Cross country skiing is available at Long Branch, Highland and Beaver Lake, with rentals at Highland.  You can also snowshoe, with rentals at Highland and Beaver Lake.

Onondaga County Parks now has a condition report, available online and on Facebook, so you know the snow and other conditions before you get there.
