GRANBY -- An Oswego County man spent Monday in jail after being arrested for a laundry list of crimes and violations.
According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 31-year-old William L. Spears of West Bridge Street in Oswego for what was initially a routine traffic stop on Wybron Road in the Town of Granby.
Upon further investigation, deputies charged Spears with the following offenses:
- Criminal use of drug paraphernalia - Criminal possession of marijuana - Criminal possession of a controlled substance - Depositing refuse on a highway - Aggravated unlicensed operation (for a 1/19/07 persistent violation) - Failure to pay child support (on 3/30/07 and 11/19/10) - Possession of drugs (on 3/8/07) - Failure to pay driver responsibility (on 6/13/07) - Failure to pay fine in Town of Scriba (on 6/6/10) - Failure to pay fine in City of Fulton (on 6/2/10) - Failure to answer summons in Town of Granby (on 7/3/08) - Failure to pay fine in City of Auburn (on 11/8/07) - Failure to answer summons in Town of Van Buren (on 5/28/07)
Spears was arraigned in Granby Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on January 13.
