SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man has been indicted by a federal Grand Jury after officials say he shot another man during a drug deal.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 26-year-old Bayon Hunter of Syracuse is charged with distributing cocaine and using a weapon during a drug crime. Officials say Hunter shot Sean Turner at a dam on the Onondaga Indian Reservation on August 3 after Turner complained about the quality of the drugs Hunter sold to him. Police allege Hunter used a .45 caliber pistol and shot Turner in the neck before fleeing the scene.
Turner reportedly hid in the woods overnight, where he was found by authorities and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Hunter faces up to 20 years in prison and a million dollar fine if convicted.
