SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police are advising Orange fans travelling to the Carrier Dome for Saturday's big game with Villanova to leave early and be mindful of where they park.
Police say fans should leave for the game early and expect traffic delays. The University expects more than 33,000 fans to attend, and with low temperatures and snow in the forecast for Saturday morning traffic will be slow moving. Police say they will be ticketing and towing cars parked illegally on city streets. Ticket fines start at $25 and towing can cost more than $125.
Police suggest staying away from parking lots in the immediate vicinity of the Dome, as those lots are permit-only. Police recommend parking at Manley Field House or Skytop and taking a shuttle bus to the main campus, which drops off on College Place near the quad. Handicap parking is located at the Skytop parking facility, which is off of East Colvin Street.
To avoid traffic delays, police advise using the rear entrance off of Jamesville Avenue, which can be accessed by Route 481 to Brighton Avenue, to Ansley Drive, and follow the signs to Skytop.
