Tournament benefits Make-a-Wish

In what's become a CNY tradition, softball players will push the season and play in the snow next weekend.
Sno-Ball Softball is in its 8th year, and volunteer Jim Boyle says the teams are signing up, to benefit Make-a-Wish.

The 'tournament' has some unusual rules:  teams of up to 10 can enter, but four team members have to be women (Boyle notes that some women can outplay men!)...AND, men have to bat with their non-dominant arm.  Boyle says snow slows down the running, too, which is another 'equalizer'

The tournament starts at 8:30am with wish child Sammy throwing out the first pitch at Syracuse's Meachem Field.  It's a single elimination tournament, and bystanders can also take advantage of refreshments provided by the 'resident' hockey and skating clubs at Meachem.
