UPDATE: Police release name of teen killed in snowmobile crash

OSCEOLA, LEWIS CO. -- Police have released the name of the teenager killed in a snowmobile crash in Lewis County Monday afternoon.
Lewis County Sheriff's deputies have identified the teenager as 16-year-old Daniel Desanctis of Webster. Police say he went off a trail and down an embankment in Osceola around 2:45 p.m. Monday, slamming into several trees.
Police say Desanctis was alone on the snowmobile, and no other vehicles were involved. He was airlifted to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica, where he later died.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Sheriff's deputies in Lewis County are investigating a serious snowmobile accident.
Deputies say a 16-year-old went off the Michigan mills/Osceola Trail and down an embankment in Osceola Monday afternoon. The teen also hit several trees.
The teen was airlifted to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica.
Investigators have not released the victim's name. The exact cause of the investigation is still under investigation.
