Happening now, teachers and staff in the Onondaga Central School District have agreed to a pay freeze as it faces a budget crunch.

The agreement will freeze all salaries at a 2% increase. It will save the district around $185,000 dollars. The district is facing a $1.3 million dollar budget shortfall.

In a press release, District Superintendent Joseph Rotella said, "the concessions will help minimize staff layoffs and maintain the high quality of education our students and community expect."

Recently, teachers in Oswego and West Genesee agreed to a similar wage freeze to help with budget trouble.
