NORTH SYRACUSE -- New concessions by North Syracuse Central School District employees could save more than a dozen jobs.
All eleven bargaining units that represent employees in the district have agreed to some concessions in their health plan to save the district $1.2 million dollars in the 2011-2012 school year.
John Carillo of the North Syracuse Education Association says employees have agreed to changes in the drug plan, which will now require all maintenance drugs to be generics and purchased through mail order pharmacies.
In addition, there has been a change in the plans from MVP, which insures retirees, and will save there district some money.
Superintendent Dr. Jerome Melvin estimates the concessions could save approximately 15 positions.
