A Utica man is jailed  after the car he was in was found stopped in the middle of a Utica street, his dazed girlfriend outside. Oneida Sheriffs Deputies say they came upon the car about 1:30 this morning on Genesee Street, and when they tried to help the woman, the man became abusive and started wrestling with them.

29 year old Nathaniel Sergio, from Utica, is now charged with punching his girlfriend in the face, twice, as she was driving him home from a party.  Deputies say he'd been arrested before for domestic violence against her.  Now he's charged with assault, reckles endangerment and resisting arrest.

20 year old Maria Major, also from Utica, says she stopped the car because she was dazed and could not see---she told deputies she got out to avoid being hit again.  She's refused hospital treatment.
