PENNELLVILLE -- Update, 8:15pm:

University Hospital nurses tell us Nathan Hadlock, 3, is in serious condition. Nurses say he's been stabilized after arriving in critical condition.

A young boy has been taken to the hospital after he was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Office tells CNY Central that around 2:20 p.m. deputies responded to a call of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian. When police arrived that found that the pedestrian was a three-year-old boy. Police say the boy, Nathan Hadlock of the Blue Jay Mobile Home Park on County Route 54, ran behind his father's 2003 Ford Escape after the family had gotten out of the vehicle. Police say the boy's father, 34-year-old Richard Hadlock, did not see his son and backed into him.

Police say Nathan Hadlock was taken by helicopter to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. His condition is unknown at this time.

No tickets have been issued as a result of the incident, which is still under investigation.
