Motorcycle safety enforcement in Onondaga County

SYRACUSE -- Now that we're starting off the month of June and seeing some nice weather, you'll probably notice more motorcycles out on the roads.
Law enforcement officials in Onondaga County are using the month of June to step up their efforts to make sure bikers are safe. They'll specifically be focusing on proper helmet use.
Police have released the results from the April crackdown on cell phone use while driving. Here's a look at the results:
-2011 total tickets issued in April for both cell phone use and use of portable electronic devices (county wide) - 3012
-2011 tickets issued for cell phone use in April (county wide) - 2725
-2011 tickets issued for use of portable electronic devices (county wide) - 287
-2010 total tickets issued in April for both cell phone use and use of portable electronic devices (county wide) - 2168
-2010 tickets issued for cell phone use in April (county wide) - 2073
-2010 tickets issued for use of portable electronic devices (county wide) - 95
