Three Rochester boaters are ok

The Coast Guard pulled three boaters out of Sodus Bay on Saturday afternoon, after they abandoned their boat in rough waters.
Coast Guardsmen at the Station Sodus Point watched as the three left their 16-foot boat to swim toward a breakwall, and launched their rescue boat to bring them in.  The three, from Rochester, are ok and a salvage company is recovering their now-sunk boat.
There was high wind and swells at the time of the rescue, and the Coast Guard reminds boaters to check forecasts and know what their boats can withstand, before going out.
