SYRACUSE -- The Onondaga County Cancer Services Program Partnership is running a special summer screening opportunity for uninsured women. Tonight on NBC3 people can sign up for free breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings.  The special summer screening event is running through August 5th.

Our phone lines will open tonight at 5:00. The number to dial is 477-9480. We will also offer a live web chat here on CNYcentral.com. If you can’t call or log on from 5:00 until 6:30 tonight you can also call the Onondaga County Health Department at 435-3653.

The “Love Yourself” screening campaign is sponsored by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the American Cancer Society. In the United States, one in three women and one in two men are likely to develop some form of cancer during their lifetimes.

Do you know anyone who has been affected by cancer? Would a free screening have perhaps led to earlier detection? Leave a comment below or join in the chat and tell us about it.
