The Ronald McDonald House is counting on 'Santas' to help them get through summer
While many places slow down for the summer, the Central New York Ronald McDonald House is busier, and that's led to a crunch when donations are usually down.
Beth Trunfio, the home's executive director, says children's hospital procedures are scheduled through the summer, when they don't interfere with school work, and their parents and often extended family stay at the East Genesee Street facility to be close.
So, Trunfio says they're doing the third 'Christmas in July' appeal, for kitchen and household supplies. Food, coffee and breakfast drinks, snacks and kitchen cleaning supplies are welcome. So are gift cards, so staffers can bring in fresh fruit and veggies. Trunfio says all items must be new, because many patients who visit are in fragile health.

... and you can drop off at all area Olum's or Maurice's in Oswego until July 29th, as well as at the Ronald McDonald House, at 1027 East Genesee Street in Syracuse on Thursday the 28th noon - 7pm, or Friday the 29th 9am - 6pm.
