GRANBY, OSWEGO CO. -- A Fulton-area ‘battle of the bands’ reportedly turned into a fistfight and landed a man in jail this past weekend.

According to State Police, Floody’s Bar on State Route 48 in Granby was hosting multiple bands Friday evening when two band members from different groups got into an argument. The argument escalated to violence when one of the band members punched the other, breaking the alleged victim’s tooth and cutting his nose.

Police have arrested 28-year-old Chano Sanchez of Route 41A in Moravia on a charge of third degree assault. He was arraigned in Hannibal Town Court and taken to the Oswego Jail on $200 bail. He is scheduled to return to Granby Town Court on August 1. Should assault changes carry a greater fine? Or is $200 sufficient for an alleged crime of this nature?

No word on who won the actual battle of the bands.
