MANLIUS -- Slow down if you're driving through a school zone in Manlius.

Manlius police will be out targeting school zones as students prepare to head back to class soon.

Officers will be distributing "School's Open" fliers, reminding drivers that school is opening soon and school speed zones are back in effect. The fliers provide drivers with information on fines and penalties along with the Safe Routes to School program.

Officers will distribute the fliers in school speed zones from 4 to 6 p.m. today.

On September 14th, police will saturate the six school zones with officers to make sure drivers aren't speeding. Police will be in both marked and unmarked cars.

The eight school zones include:

- Minoa Elementary on Main Street in Minoa
- Fremont Road at Fremont Elementary
- Salt Springs Road at Immaculate Conception
- Fayetteville-Manlius Road in front of Fayetteville Elementary and Wellwood Middle Schools
- Mott Road in front of Mott Road Elementary
- Enders Road in front of Enders Road Elementary and Eagle Hill Middle Schools

Speed limits in school zones are in effect during school days from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
