DEWITT -- Three weeks after a fiery crash in Jamesville, investigators have finally identified the victim as a teenager from Syracuse.

DeWitt police say 16-year-old Leon Williams was identified through his dental records. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office says the boy's cause of death appears to be blunt force trauma. They are awaiting final test results prior to releasing the official autopsy report.

Williams was reported missing to Syracuse police on August 6th, several weeks before the deadly crash.

In theĀ early morning hours of August 21st, emergency crews were dispatched to East Seneca Turnpike in Jamesville where they found a van engulfed in flames. They later found the charred remains of a body inside.

Investigators say the van was registered to Catholic Charities. They say it was stolen from the organization on West Onondaga Street in Syracuse earlier in the night.
