Syracuse firefighters marked the 10th anniversary of 9/11 today in downtown.
Uniformed firefighters marched through downtown to the Firefighters Memorial Park at the corner of East Fayette and South State Streets.
Officials then observed a 17 minute period of silence, marking the time in between the first and second plane hitting the twin towers.
Firefighters then re-enacted the famous flag-raising photo from 9/11.
Syracuse Fire Chief Mark McLees says a lot has changed since September 11th, but the fire department's commitment has not.
"When they call 911, we're still going to show up. The firefighters are still going to show up with the same resolve and the same professionalism and same dedication that we did 10 years ago. Nothing has changed in that respect."
Firefighters will be collecting donations until 6 P.M. Sunday at the Carousel Center to raise money for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run and the Burn Foudation of Central New York.
