BALDWINSVILLE -- A 17-year-old found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time last weekend.

State Police say the Baldwinsville teen, who we are not identifying because of his age, walked into the Sunoco A Plus convenience store on Downer Street Road around 11 p.m. Saturday night to buy alcohol.

Unfortunately for him, State Police were conducting an Underage drinker ID enforcement detail at the same place and time. The teen was identified as being under age 21 by the persons assisting police with the enforcement detail.

When the teen left the store with a 12-pack and three six-packs of beer, he was stopped by troopers. Police say he used a forged New York State driver's license to make the beer purchase.

The teen was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal impersonation and unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years of age.

He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Van Buren Town Court next month.
