LANSING, TOMPKINS CO. -- An Elmira man will spend the next 20 years in prison for a home invasion and sexual assault in Lansing.
37-year-old Bradley Brown was sentenced in Tompkins County Court Wednesday to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years post-release supervision.
Brown pleaded guilty back in June to burglary, kidnapping, sexual abuse and assault related to a home invasion in Lansing last October.
Brown admitted to breaking into the home, sexually abusing a woman, assaulting a man with a wrench, abducting both victims by hogtieing them with electrical cords and stealing money before leaving them tied up in the house.
The woman was able to shimmy up a flight of stairs while still bound and reach sewing scissors to cut herself and her husband free and then call 911.
Brown was arrested the next day in Elmira.
He had previously done landscaping work at the victims' home.
In addition to the prison sentence, Brown will have to pay $500 restitution for the money he stole during the crime and has waived all of his appeal rights.
