Five arrested for underage drinking and driving on highway

SENECA FALLS, SENECA COUNTY -- Seneca Falls Police say police pulled over a car Thursday night with five female passengers after an empty cigarette pack was thrown out of the window. The pack bounced off the road and hit a patrol car’s bumper.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, Alyssa H. McDonald, 20, of Waterloo, was arrested for unlawful possession of alcohol under the age of twenty one and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway. 

Police say that the four other passengers, three 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old, were found to be in possession of alcohol and impaired by alcohol.

The four minors were charged with unlawful possession of alcohol under the age of twenty one and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway.

Police say that during the investigation, they learned that the 18-year-old passenger brought the alcohol into the vehicle. She was additionally charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor.

The five women were taken to the police station where they were ticketed and released to their parents. They are all scheduled to appear in Seneca Falls Court on October 27.

Police say the names of the the sixteen year olds and one eighteen year old is being held due to their age.
