Rain does not stop CROP Walkers

Turnouts were not as big as in the past...but the fundraising support was there for this year's CROP hunger walks.

At Syracuse's Downtown walk, coordinator Doug Anderson was applauded after his wife took the microphone to congratulate him for 35 years of organizing the anti-hunger efforts.  25% of all the moneys raised stays in the community, the rest goes to worldwide relief.

And, there's no question the help is needed:  several food pantries say they're seeing huge jumps in demand.  At one on Syracuse's northside, requests have doubled in the past month.  There's more at the Church World Service website
