Syracuse Opera is starting its season with one of the grand operas--La Traviata.  It's fully staged, with Symphony Syracuse providing the music, and with some incredible singing talent coming to Syracuse to perform, including Nathaniel Peake, who was a resident artist here, and has gone on to win major singing prizes and whose tenor voice is now in demand around the country.

General and Artistic Director Cathy Wolff says it's an easy work to understand, and this new production of the classic Verdi opera  would be a good 'first opera' introduction.La Traviata will be performed Friday Evening and Sunday Afternoon (October 21 & 23) at Syracuse's Mulroy Civic Center.
