Syracuse police: Youth pull knives on delivery man, steal pizza

SYRACUSE -- Syracuse police are investigating two armed robberies.

The first happened around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday along the 300 block of Kenwood Avenue. Police say a 42-year-old man was delivering pizza when he was approached by four men with knives who appeared to be between 16 and 20-years-old. Police say they stole the pizza and an undisclosed amount of cash, then took off on foot towards Lemoyne Avenue. The victim was not hurt.

The second armed robbery happened around 10:30 p.m. along the 400 block of West Genesee Street. Police say a 29-year-old man was walking on West Genesee Street when two men with a knife knocked him to the ground, stealing a cell phone and an undetermined amount of cash. They took off on foot and were last seen running eastbound on West Genesee Street. One suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The other may have been wearing a red colored hooded sweatshirt. The victim was not hurt.

Right now, police are trying to figure out of the two incidents are related.
