Three car crash tied up traffic on Interstate 81

SYRACUSE -- Police say a truck set off a three car crash that tied up traffic on Interstate-81 Monday morning.

Officers say a Cintas truck driving in the center lane on 81 Southbound between Adams Street and Colvin Street at about seven o'clock in the morning when it hit an SUV in the center lane. The SUV lost control and slide into the left lane, where it hit a pick-up truck.

The pick-up truck driver suffered a cut on his arm. A 12-year-old passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

No tickets were issued.

That area of the highway was closed for about an hour and a half.
