SOUTH NEW BERLIN, CHENANGO CO. -- An Upton man is in jail following an assault and robbery investigation.
According to Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested First snow fall in Central New York, 29, on Wednesday. The arrest followed a Monday night investigation into an assault on State Highway 23, West Street, in South New Berlin.
Deputies say Baker allegedly assaulted and robbed a 54-year-old man in his driveway. During the vicious attack, the victim was beaten about the head and face and had has his wallet forcibly stolen.
Unidentified at the time, Baker fled on foot.
Deputies say the victim was later treated and released from Chenango Memorial Hospital for lacerations and bruising of the face.
Deputies say they arrest Baker Tuesday on unrelated charges and incarcerated him at the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail on a New York State Parole Warrant.
Baker is charged with assault, grand larceny, petit larceny and robbery.
Further arrests and additional charges are pending DNA laboratory submissions and analysis.
