LIVERPOOL -- Lights on the Lake will open one week earlier than usual this year.
"Last year was the most successful year ever for Lights on the Lake, and in order to keep up with the demand we've decided to open one week early," said County Executive Joanie Mahoney.
County leaders tout their partnership with Galaxy Communications as the impetus for the growth and continued success of the event, which is sponsored by Wegmans.
"The Lights on the Lake holiday event provides fun and entertainment the whole family can enjoy," said Evelyn Carter, Director Community Relations for Wegmans Food Markets.
Last year's First Night CNY was a huge success, with over 7,000 Central New Yorkers at this fun event on New Year's Eve. This year, there will be several new additions. National Recording Artists New Boyz will perform, there will be outdoor activities including laser tag and glow in the dark mini-golf, video games and karaoke in large heated tents and families will be able to walk through Lights on the Lake.
The walk-through of Lights on the Lake will be November 14-15 from 5-9 p.m. The dog walk will be Nov. 16 from 5-9 p.m. The drive thru portion will begin November 17, a week earlier than previous years. The event will run through January 8. It will be open from 5-10 p.m. Each evening.
Tickets are $8 per car Monday through Thursday and $12 per car Friday through Sunday. You can get a discounted rate of $6 on Mondays and Tuesdays if you show your Wegmans Shoppers Club card. People with a Driver's Village or Burdick Automotive license plate frame will get in for $6 on Wednesday nights. Discounted advance sale tickets for $6 will be available to purchase November 1-16.
Tickets will be sold at Wegmans and at the Onondaga Lake Park office at the Griffin Visitor Center.
