SYRACUSE (AP) -- A North Syracuse woman who robbed a Kinney Drug store in the Town of Clay, putting a school on lockdown, will spend the next five years on probation.
31-year-old Amy Sullivan, of 417 Ferguson Avenue, had pleaded guilty to robbery, a felony.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say Sullivan was wearing a black ski mask when she entered the store at 5221 West Taft Road back in April, demanding drugs from the store's pharmacist.
Witnesses report Sullivan motioned as if she had a handgun beneath her sweatshirt, demanding the pharmacist give her hydrocodone. Sullivan grabbed the pills and drove off.
She was later spotted driving near the intersection of Ivon and Ford Drives. As they tried to stop her, she continued driving through the neighborhood. That's when deputies say she struck a marked New York State Police car near the intersection of Helen Street and Fergerson Avenue before pulling into her driveway. Detectives later determined she did not have a handgun.
As the incident unfolded, the North Syracuse Junior High School was locked down as a precaution.
In addition to probation, Sullivan has to have an interlock device on her car and must pay restitution.
