OSWEGO COUNTY -- An Oswego County man is facing DWI charges after driving with two flat tires and a smashed windshield.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Department says 62-year-old Donald Shumway, of Mexico, was spotted by a Border Patrol unit at the intersection of Hughes Road and State Route 104 in New Haven. Investigators say Shumway was driving with a smashed windshield and both front tires were flat. Deputies could not tell us why Shumway's car was damaged. Border Patrol officers did not return our calls.

Shumway was charged with Aggravated DWI and DWI. He has a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years.

Shumway was sent to the Oswego County Justice Center on $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to be back in New Haven Town Court next Thursday.
