TOWN OF ONONDAGA -- Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies need your help as they investigate a purse snatching in the Town of Onondaga.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 6320 South Salina Street.
Deputies say a man ran up behind a woman as she was walking to her car, then ripped her purse from her arm and took off running northbound into the wooded area towards Elton Avenue.
The victim was unable to identify the suspect's race, as he came up from behind her, but he's believed to be approximately 6' tall, of medium build and was last seen wearing a yellow colored hoodie sweatshirt over his head, blue jeans and a light colored pair of boots. He took off with the victim's purse. The woman was not hurt.
Detective have released a surveillance photo of the suspect and they're hoping you can help identify him.
