SYRACUSE -- In a rare appeal, the United States Attorney's Office is now asking for anyone who has information concerning the Bernie Fine investigation to contact them.
John Duncan, with the U.S. Attorneys office, says the United States Secret Service is the lead investigative agency on the Bernie Fine case. They have expertise and have been utilized before in cases of sexual abuse. They also have computer related expertise which is beneficial. Duncan says the other federal agency that could be used is the FBI, but relationships the U.S. Attorney's office has in Syracuse with the Secret Service led to it being the lead on the Bernie Fine case.
The U.S. Attorneys office is asking anyone with information on the investigation to call a toll-free tip line at 1-855-395-1106. All calls will remain anonymous. Any other information may also be submitted by email to syroffice@usss.dhs.gov.
