One local elementary school is making sure every child has at least one present this Christmas.

Staff members at Webster Elementary school in the Syracuse City School District have partnered with agencies, including Toys for Tots, to transform the school's gym into a winter wonderland.

On Friday, about 600 students were able to go in and pick out a gift.

"The gym shocked my eyes...because of all the nice looking toys" says 9-year-old Tireck Brooks. 

Paige Sutton, 8, wasn't picking out a gift for herself.  She was looking for something for her big sister.

"I just wanted to take everything," says Sutton.  "Then, I saw the Barbie with the animals, and I know my sister loves animals."

Mamie Howard, a social worker at the school, helps organize the event.  She says her favorite part is watching how the children react.

"It warms my heart," says Howard.   "It's a pleasure, it's a joy. It's what we do."

The children visited the gym one class at a time, and after they received their gifts, they all made sure to say "thank you" to all the volunteers.
