SYRACUSE -- Police in Syracuse are investigating an overnight shooting, where the victim isn’t exactly sure where he was shot.

According to Syracuse Police, around 2:20 a.m. Thursday 38-year-old Kareem Tarver called 911 and told dispatchers that while he was walking to his home on West Colvin Street on the city's south side he was shot twice in the stomach. Tarver told police he was “jumped by two boys” somewhere on West Colvin near Midland Avenue, but made it home before he realized that he had been shot.

Police say Tarver could not describe the alleged suspects other than to say that they were “young boys”. He also could not provide an exact location of the incident, and police say investigators were unable to find a crime scene.

Tarver was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment of two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Police say doctors described his condition as serious, but stable.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department at 315-442-5222. Police say all calls will be kept confidential.
