ALBANY -- The State University of New York Chancellor Nancy Zimpher delivered her state of SUNY address in Albany today.

Among the highlights Zimpher noted that the SUNY system spends $70 million a year reteaching basic skills for students entering college.

The chancellor also talked about the importance of keeping costs in check and consolidating campus administrative duties where SUNY can. She says the system could save $100 million in administrative costs during the next three years and put that money back into teaching.

Zimpher also wants to make it easier for community college students to easily transfer to four year colleges and graduate on time.
