A Hudson Valley family who lost their son to suicide is now dealing with more unspeakable pain.
According to our affiliate in New York, the father who became an anti-bullying advocate after losing his own son to suicide has now taken his own life.
Kevin Jacobsen committed suicide over the weekend. "That whole family to go through this twice now, I just can't believe it," neighbor Jacqui Vega told CBS 2 in New York.
Last fall, Wanda and Kevin Jacobsen spoke publicly about the suicide death of their son, Kameron who suffered physical, verbal and cyber bullying.
"We don't want Kameron or any of these kids to have died in vain," Kevin Jacobsen said at the time.
Bullying is an issue that has become front and center in Central New York recently as well with some local schools forming groups stop the problem.
In the wake of Kameron's death, his parents created the "Kindness Above Malice" foundation to help other bullied teens.
His father became an outspoken advocate against bullying, working on anti-bullying legislation with local, state and federal officials.
Kevin Jacobsen leaves behind a wife and two children.
