SYRACUSE (AP) -- A 45-year-old Watertown man who owns a commercial floor-cleaning business has been sentenced to three years' probation, six months of home confinement, and $88,000 in restitution for income tax evasion.
U.S. Attorney Richard Hartunian says Alton Sharlow owns Janco Management in Watertown. Between 2004 and 2006, Hartunian says Sharlow received cash payments for cleaning services and under-reported his receipts to a tax preparer by more than $393,000.
The prosecution resulted from an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service in Syracuse.
