Who knew?  At least 17 wineries here in New York--many with names you'd recognize--are owned by Cornell graduates.  The Cornell Alumni of Central New York are doing their annual wine tasting--their 14th--and plan to feature wines from alums.  Jim Miller, who's organizing the event, says the Friday night event at Syracuse's Rosemond Gifford Zoo, says the evening will also include a silent auction, and  proceeds will fund scholarships for Syracuse-area students to study at Cornell.

Far Above Cayuga Wineries is Friday night, January 27th at Syracuse's Zoo, 5:30 - 8:30pm.  Tickets online are at a discount, or $45 at the door.
