Rescue Mission benefit features tasting, and Iron Chef

Syracuse will see its first 'Iron Fork' competition next Sunday:  A chef and two assistants will be given ingredients, and 50 minutes to prepare a presentable meal.

John Reule, chef at Wise Guys in Syracuse and one of the coordinators, says so many chefs and food providers--16 teams and counting--- wanted to be involved that the hours for the competition have already been extended.  And, after the competition, Cazenovia native and celebrity chef Anne Burrell, who's on the Food Network's 'Iron Chef' will do a book signing and food presentation.

The event benefits Syracuse's Rescue Mission ---it is January 29th, starting at 11am at SU's Schine Student Center.  Tickets, available at Wise Guys, Francesca's or the Schine Box Office, are for either watching and sampling, or just watching from the balcony above.  The competition ends at 4, and from 4 - 6 it's FREE to come in for Chef Burrell's book signing and presentation.
