SYRACUSE -- A local man has been arrested for DWI after police say he crashed a car into a house in Syracuse.
Around 12:35 a.m. Sunday Syracuse police say they responded to a crash on Cayuga Street. Police say they located a Nissan four door sedan that had hit the house at 205 Cayuga Street. The driver, 34-year-old Sergi Basarav of Syracuse, was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor facial injuries as a result of the crash.
Police say Basarav was trying to make a right turn when he lost control of his car. He drove across a lawn and hit the house.
Basarav was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, misdemeanor charge of reckless operation, and failure to maintain lane. Police say he will appear in Syracuse City Traffic Court at a later date.
No one inside the house was hurt.
