Syracuse Police: Crook steals car while owner pumps gas

SYRACUSE -- A man has fallen victim to a carjacking while pumping gas on the Syracuse’s Westside, according to Syracuse Police.
It happened shortly before 5:30 pm Thursday at the Sunoco gas station at the intersection of West Genesee Street and North Geddes Street.
Police said a 29-year-old man pumping gas was asked by another man if he’d like to buy drugs.
When the victim refused, police said the suspect jumped in the car, threatening the victim with a gun before taking off.
Police located the car within 10 minutes of the robbery three blocks away on the 700 block of West Genesee Street.
The victim was not hurt.
The suspect has not been found.
He’s described as a man in his thirties, 5’8’’-5’10’’, medium build, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
