Deals, discounts, and some school help, too
Ithaca Loves Teachers week is underway, with record signups on the first day, and a take-home bonus: free school supplies for the early birds who've come to take advantage of the deals, recreation and more in Tompkins County during winter recess week.
Fred Bonn, with the Ithaca-Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau, says 200+ businesses are offering discounts and specials. Staples is giving two and a half tons of supplies to the early birds at check-in--that's expected to run out Monday or Tuesday, at the latest. There are 35+ events to choose from daily, some just fun, but some with ideas to take back to the classroom--like tours of some of Cornell's high tech programs.
Teachers can register with the Convention and Visitors Bureau for a pass and guidebook, for the February 17 - 26 festival.
