SYRACUSE -- There will be plenty of hockey being played at the War Memorial at OnCenter in Syracuse this Saturday with the good folks at the Syracuse Crunch and Aspen Dental spear heading another fund raising effort for a good cause - the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The hockey day begins with a "masters" hockey game (players generally age 50 and older) between the Syracuse Graywolves and the Rochester Rockers hitting the ice at 3:00 pm.

CNY Central Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar will be in the goal for the Syracuse Crunch and it’s revenge time for Rochester as they lost to the Graywolves last year by a 4-1 score.

Later in the day Saturday, 7:30 pm to be exact, the Syracuse Crunch take on St. John’s Ice Caps for the “real” game.

As always, the Crunch, from Howard Dolgon the President, to Vance Lederman the General Manager, to Jim Sarosy the Chief Operating Officer, right on down to the players, have always been there anxious to get involved and help Central New York in any way they can.

The great folks at Aspen Dental have always been there as well supporting our community in whatever way they can. Great organizations are coming together for a great cause; the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

For every ticket sold through the fundraising efforts of the Gray Wolves and Rockers, the Crunch will donate $4 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York, with a minimum donation of $1,500, in addition to Aspen Dental's donation of $1,000.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation's mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Admission is FREE!  Hope to see you there.  1:30 pm this Saturday the puck drops!
