SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man is accused of robbing a local drug store.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say 42-year-old Robert Sigler, of 340 Montgomery Street, robbed the Rite Aid Pharmacy in the Shop City Plaza on March 1.
Deputies say Sigler walked into the store around 5:47 p.m., approached the clerk and asked about buying cigarettes that were locked up behind the cashier's counter. Investigators say he then grabbed cigarettes and other tobacco products and ran towards the door. Sigler then allegedly lifted his sweatshirt and showed, what appeared to be, a handgun in his waistband and threatened a store employee who tried to stop him from leaving.
Sigler was arraigned in the Town of Salina Court and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail.
He is scheduled to be back in court on March 14.
