NEW YORK -- Tebow mania is coming to Central New York.

The New York Jets traded for Tim Tebow on Wednesday after finalizing contract negotiations to pay additional money to Tebow’s old team, the Denver Broncos, to get the quarterback.

Tim Tebow says he had a "great conversation" with New York Jets quarterback and friend Mark Sanchez.
Speaking on a conference call late Wednesday night, Tebow says he's thankful the Jets stuck with him through "this whole crazy process."

After a big false start, the New York Jets pulled off a Tebow-like comeback Wednesday night, getting the quarterback who turned the Denver Broncos from an also-ran into a playoff team last season and became the NFL's most talked-about player - for a fourth- and sixth-round draft pick.

Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum says Sanchez remains the team's unquestioned starting quarterback.

The jets will be back in Cortland for training camp this summer.

The team took a year off from trips to Cortland because of the NFL lockout last season.

In 2010, around 41,000 people visited the SUNY Cortland campus to see the Jets, bringing in nearly $6 million.
.
Fans love him or hate him, but Tebow is a major figure in the NFL right now.
