Funding has been secured for 25 road and bridge projects in Central New York.

Governor Andrew Cuomo's office announced millions of dollars from the New York Works Program. The money will pay for replacements, repairs and pavement treatments for more than 150 miles of roads and 16 bridges.

The projects span Oswego, Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties. There are also several projects in the North Country, Southern Tier and other areas of the state. All the projects are ready to start this year and are eligible for federal funding. "The New York Works Program is not only an investment to improve the safety of the transportation system in our community but these significant projects will benefit our local economy," said Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton. "The investment of more than $2.5 million in our transportation system will also result in the creation of much-needed jobs in Tompkins County."

Three bridges on Interstate 690 are included. Route 13 from the Chemung County line to the Tompkins County line will get an upgrade along with Route 34B from Route 38 to Triphammer Road in Tompkins County and Route 38 from Route 366 in Freeville to the Groton Village line.
